Half Moon

There are lots of famous delicacies in Bacolod that you may find in the Metro. But this one in particular is only sold in Bacolod City. The oh, so yummy, Half Moon. It looks like a mamon but the top part has a glaze that tasted like the filling of brazo de mercedes. It's not too sweet, just enough to tickle one's sweet tooth. I loved it, and I will definitely buy boxes of it when I come to visit Bacolod again.

Half Moon is sold in Pendy's per piece or by box of 6 pcs. Pendy's is located along Lacson Street, near ABSCBN Bacolod.
It is sold 40 pesos per piece. or 240 per box of 6.

So when you come and visit Bacolod, do not forget to drop by Pendy's. :)

Making cakes without even baking ;)

I love cakes and I love to eat! I love to explore new things inside the kitchen and I want to know a lot more... Just this week I thought of making a cake for me and my husband, and since my son is staying with my parents for a week, I can have the whole time to spend in the kitchen :) I then went out to buy ingredients for my home made cheesecake ;) I added blueberry as toppings to make it more yummier haha!

here's my no bake-cheesecake! I made it all by myself :0 so proud of it haha! It tastes like the blueberry cheesecake from redribbon. :)

Addicted to Panna Cotta

Last Sunday, My family attended Joehna's 2nd Bday Party. It was a fantabulous one having such a nice party Harajuku Style :) My son danced all the time enjoying the lighted dance floor specially installed for the party. While everyone else is enjoying the mood of the party, me and my husband devoured to this delicious dessert called Panna Cotta in Caramel Sauce.

I cannot count how many glasses I consumed during the event but I still wanted more. haha! SO i decided to make one for myself.

Soon as I got home I looked for the best possible and easiest way to make a good panna cotta. Then I got this one: Enjoy!

Panna Cotta

Eight servings

I love this dessert and the great thing about Panna Cotta is that it demands to be made in advance. You can make them up to two days ahead and keep them well-covered and chilled.

4 cups (1l) heavy cream (or half-and-half)
1/2 cup (100g) sugar
2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, or 1 vanilla bean, split lengthwise
2 packets powdered gelatin (about 4 1/2 teaspoons)
6 tablespoons (90ml) cold water

1. Heat the heavy cream and sugar in a saucepan or microwave. Once the sugar is dissolved, remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

2. Lightly oil eight custard cups with a neutral-tasting oil.

3. Sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water in a medium-sized bowl and let stand 5 to 10 minutes.

4. Pour the very warm Panna Cotta mixture over the gelatin and stir until the gelatin is completely dissolved.

5. Divide the Panna Cotta mixture into the prepared cups, then chill them until firm, which will take at least two hours but I let them stand at least four hours. (

If you're pressed for time, pour the Panna Cotta mixture into wine goblets so you can serve them in the glasses, without unmolding.

6. Run a sharp knife around the edge of each Panna Cotta and unmold each onto a serving plate, and garnish as desired.

To make Panna Cotta with sheet gelatin: Soften 25g (approximately six sheets) in a liter of cold water for 5 to 10 minutes. Wring the sheets out and stir them into the warm Panna Cotta mixture in step # 4, until dissolved.

Bridson's first try @ Tony Roma's - ATC

Spending Sundays at the Alabang Town Center has been our family's weekend bonding. We usually hang out there after lunch until past 8p.m.
A few weeks ago, Bridson has been eyeing one particular restaurant. He keeps on asking if I was able to try their food before and if it's good... I told him to better check it out for himself. ;) and voila! dinner is set at Tony Roma's!!! We got in there around 6:45 p.m., quite early dinner for us. My son bongbong was feeling at home inside the resto, he keeps on walking around and having fun with the restaurant attendants. hehe =)) One of the female attendant gave him a twisted balloon shaped into a snail, she also gave him crayons and paper while we were waiting for our food to be served. My husband ordered Cheese Burger - monterey jack cheese, medium rare, while I ordered Grilled Pork Chops with corn and rice. One person approached us while we were munchin on the free hot bread, he told us that unfortunately there's not much french fries-side dish left to serve, however they will still serve it together with a free baked potato. Then our food came, we were shocked by the amount of servings that they offer. Twas like an overload of fries plus a baked potato and coleslaw. And that's only for Bridson. My food was also terrific! I love the grilled pork chops plus the apple side dish. Everything was awesome. There's no room left for dessert. haha!

Before we finished our food, a lady attendant came to our table and offered me a discount card called "Friends of Tony Roma's" she said I can use it already after signing up. So there, I got a 10% disc. on top of our total bill. ;) Tony Roma's ATC is a superb resto!
